OEKO-TEX®
1. Which OEKO-TEX® certifications and labels do you have?
Our products have been OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified for years. Since 2023, our production facilities in Austria have been certified with OEKO-TEX® STeP, meaning that the products manufactured there also carry the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label.
2. What are the benefits of the certification/labels?
The MADE IN GREEN label clearly signals to our customers that we prioritise socially responsible and safe production as well as products tested for harmful substances—and we can prove it. Additionally, the detailed STeP certification process has helped us identify areas for improvement and optimise our processes.
3. What challenges does the OEKO-TEX® STeP certification help you overcome?
The comprehensive STeP certification serves as excellent preparation for upcoming regulations and laws, such as the EU Supply Chain Due Diligence Directive.
4. What challenges does the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification help you overcome?
STANDARD 100 is a globally recognised certification for textiles and leather, providing clear benefits in addressing customer inquiries about harmful substances. Since numerous components are tested for compliance, we can confidently prove that we remain within safe limits. By achieving Product Class II certification (for direct skin contact), we also ensure the safety of employees in our customers’ processing departments.

6. What is your philosophy/strategy for producing sustainable and/or high-quality products?
The high-quality fibres we use as the foundation for our fabrics ensure exceptional durability—a key aspect of sustainability.
At Sattler SUN-TEX, we stand for outstanding design and technical innovation. We were the first in our industry to achieve STeP certification.We work closely with our fibre and yarn manufacturers as well as chemical suppliers, and we have even encouraged two of our suppliers to obtain STeP certification.
